Definition for : CFO or Collateralised Fund Obligation

A "Collateralised Fund Obligation" (or "CFO") is in essence similar to a Collateralised bond obligation (CBO), except that it securitises a portfolio of dozens of participations in funds run by several hedge funds, or in some cases in Private equity funds.
